I don't think I've ever seen an Australian Open quite like this one. There were so many upsets, wild matches, and storylines, that I couldn't even keep up. I lost a lot of sleep with all these matches, but it was SO worth it.

Best players of the tournament were...........
Fernando Verdasco
Rafa Nadal
Roger Federer
Andy Roddick
Jelena Dokic
Serena Williams
Dinara Safina
Elena Dementieva
Carla Suarez-Navarro
Vera Zvonareva
Alisa Kleybanova

The best matches of the tournament were..........
Nadal vs. Verdasco (Semifinals)
Gonzalez vs. Gasquet (3rd Round)
Dokic vs. Kleybanova (4th Round)

Most disappointing players were......
Novak Djokovic
Venus Williams
David Nalbandian
Jelena Jankovic
Ana Ivanovic
Andy Murray
James Blake
Richard Gasquet

The biggest storylines were...........
Heat Conditions
Jelena Dokic
Bosnia/Serbia Fans Fighting

Will 2010 be even better and wackier, or was this as crazy as it'll ever get?

Not only are we missing Rafa and Roger but now Andy Roddick and he was defending champion :( :( :( !! I feel sorry for all those people who paid to particularly see those guys, it sucks!! Why did Roddick withdraw???

Also who do you think is going to take the title? (i guess many are going to see murray) ! I suppose even tho the tournament favourites are out it`ll be exciting to see a different player take the home the trophy rather than Nadal,Federer etc.
Aww Roddick, all those points he had to defend and had a great chance of winning the tournament and he does this!!! I love him !!! Its about time someone stood up to the atp. Im still sad tho, he`s not playing :*( plz murray dont win lol

At the start of this season the ATP Rankings was merged with the ATP race to make a new 'easier to follow' Rankings for tennis. This seemed like a great idea to me at the start but i still haven't found a website that shows the points a player will lose during the next tournament.

Below i have given an example of what i mean.

Last Season:

Roger Federer won 2000 Pts for Winning the US Open
Andy Murray won 1200 Pts for Placing second
Rafael Nadal won 720 pts for making the semi finals
Novak Djokovic won 720 pts for making the semi finals

This means we can adjust the points to show where they will lie in two weeks time if they did not win any points during this peroid.

Roger Federer 10,040
Andy Murray 8,410
Rafael Nadal 8,305
Novak Djokovic 6,940
Andy Roddick 5,360

The points on offer for the US Open:
Win 2000
Runner Up 1200
Semi's 720
Quarter's 360

This tells us that Andy Murray and Rafael Nadal can technically become number one rank in two weeks, although it is extremly unlikely, but also that if Nadal out performs Murray he will regain second place and also Roddick and Djokovic are in positions to improve their places if they win the tournament.

This seems very interesting to me but i can't find anywhere on the net that shows this. It's too time consuming to calculate this each week by myself but ATP have to do it anyway so why not show this.

Why do English people support Murray?

I have been watching Wimbledon everyday and I just don't get it. I see all these interviews where you have these English people supporting Murray, saying he is their absolute favourite and what a lovely man is. Have I missed something?

Last time I checked, he hated the whole lot of us. Insults us at every chance. For example:

"Who do you want to win the World Cup?" Murray replied "Anyone but England!!!" ... That was it for me, sod him, and anyone who answers that he was just joking, he wasn't, his manager had a right go at him because he lost lots of support! But why do the English, well some, still support him?

I support anyone who's playing against him, my favourites are Andy Roddick and Roger Federer. They seem genuine and from watching Tim Henman in several interviews, It looked to me that he supported Federer so much more than Murray ... understandably.

Anyway, sorry to go on :P but can you answer the question? Thanks!

Andy Murray winning Wimbledon?

Ok so this question i have to ask. Andy Murray as you know was the favourite i suppose to win Wimbledon this year. He Got to the semis and got bet by Andy Roddick.

Correct me if im wrong but so far throughout the comp he was being called the 'British Star' on the news and such. Since his beating to Roddick and now that he is no longer in the comp why is he being referred to as the 'Scottish Star'.

I always feel that when he is winning he is British but when he is losing he is Scottish. And yes i know he is British and he is Scottish but why the change when he gets beat.

Answers are appreciated
Thanks !
