About Andy Murray Matters
This website follows and SUPPORTS unequivocally the career of British tennis player Andy Murray.
Andy Murray is a dedicated sports man who has dedicated himself to his sport of tennis and deserves the FULL support of Great Britain, not only when he is up at the top but also when he has the occasional bad patch . He has of course the full support of his country of birth which is Scotland but has also shown over the years that he fully deserves all the support that can be given from the country as a whole .
As a country, we have watched Andy grow up on the world's tennis courts, we have watched him mature from a temperamental teenager to a feisty, intelligent tennis player who has every shot in the book and never hesitates to use what he needs if he thinks it will win him the match.
He was once criticised for using dropshots too often, and possibly at times he did as he was learning what worked for him, but if you watch the games of the world's current top players indeed, the dropshot is becoming more and more a part of their game too as they realise that a varied array of strokes is much better to have than just sheer
power of hitting serve after serve after serve with no variation at all, which is a VERY boring game to watch and there are many top tennis players even now who only really have their serve.
Andy Murray has flair and style and has proved again and again that he has the determination, the talent, and most definitely the fitness and finesse required to make it to the top in men's tennis and stay there.
It's only a matter of time until Andy wins one of the coveted prizes in tennis which of course, is one of the four major grand slams.
It is also commonly believed that once he wins one, he won't stop at one, there will be more, it's just a matter of time and patience both on the part of Andy and on the part of the British public who are so, so desperate for a grand slam winner winner that sometimes they put the whole weight of the country on the shoulders of one young man.
I have no doubt that there will be at least one grand slam in the future of Andy Murray and I will keep this website running for however long Andy plays tennis as a sign of support and gratitude for all the enjoyment I have received through watching Andy Murray grow up in the public eye and play inspirational, artistic and stylish tennis.
I don't understand the battering that Andy gets from the British press, sometimes a single word is taken totally out of context and blown up out of all proportion which is just one more unnecessary burden on the young shoulders of Andy, and indeed all top sportsmen in public life have to deal with. The world's media would do well to sometimes support their top sportsmen rather than always looking for the sensational story and hoping to bring them down in some way.
How can it be possible that the British public and press feel they can blame EVERYTHING that is wrong with British tennis on just ONE MAN? Insanely unbelievable and totally UNJUST!
There are currently rumours and I do hope that they are true, that Andy is back with his beautiful girlfriend of 4 years, Kim Sears. I do hope that this is the case and we can only hope that with her support and encouragement he will fall as much back in love with the beautiful game as with her, a game which is so often described as a love affair of sorts by players throughout history.
For the moment their relationship appears to be pivoting at 40-love and I reckon all it needs is one more grand romantic gesture, and it’ll be game, set and match for our main man and hopefully British tennis, which needs a positive boost in the run up to Wimbledon.
As you will see from the above words, I am a huge supporter of Andy Murray and this website is my way of giving a little bit back and helping to encourage more and more support for a young man who is currently a real role model for young tennis players today.
If you would like to show your support for Andy Murray, please feel free to leave your comments on this page and in fact anywhere on any of the posts on this website.
After his UNtypical slow start 2010 match-play lets show Andy that he has the support he needs to boost his confidence and shoot him right back up to the top of the game where he most definitely belongs !
Best wishes,
Alex
